The treatment for a Zoloft overdose will vary depending on how much time has passed.
If the overdose was recent, the doctor may prescribe certain medicines or he will pump the stomach by placing a tube into the stomach. Treatment can also include supportive care such as:
- fluids through an intravenous line (IV)
- medicines to increase blood pressure, to control the heart rhythm or the seizures
- closely monitoring the heart and lungs
- help with breathing with a breathing tube
- other treatments based on complications that appear.
